Guess the Book

It’s time for another edition of Guess the Book…Here’s the first line.
BTW, Keeks and The Happy Homemaker got it right last week. Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. And now for this week’s opening sentences. Hint: It’s a classic.

In my younger and more vulnerable years my father gave me some advice that I’ve been turning over in my mind ever since.

“Whenever you feel like criticizing any one,” he told me, “just remember that all the people in this world haven’t had the advantages that you’ve had.”

I don’t care for her much either. The book was much better than the movie. And, by the way, I’m still mad at Daisy Buchanan. I’ve been mad at her ever since I read the book for the first time.
