Recipe for a Successful Sleep-Over

  1. Remember that if it is a sleep-over for boys it is called a sleep-over.  Do not EVER refer to it as a slumber party.  Slumber parties are for girls only.
  2. 3-4 Rolls of toilet paper for each child attending the party for the TP’ing later in the evening.
  3. 7-10 Large Cheese/Pepperoni Pizzas
  4. 1 Big Cookie with tons of blue icing. The more icing the better.  You want to make sure it is colored so it can leave stains everywhere including their mouth and teeth.
  5. Earplugs (for the adults only)
  6. Grandma with a van who is willing to drive 7 boys around the city.
  7. Aunt with a huge sycamore tree in the front yard who is willing to go home early so the kids can TP her house.  She must be willing to wait until her yard is nearly trashed and she receives the text message giving her the signal to come running out of her house.
  8. Mom willing to ride on the console of the van so all the kids can be in a seat with a seatbelt.
  9. Swimsuits and towels for the hot tub.  Be sure to fill the hot tub past capacity.  At least half the water will end up on the ground by the time they get out of the tub.
  10. Mom willing to stand outside in the 35 degree weather while the boys proceed to play Zombie and splash all water out of the tub.
  11. 2 dozen Krispy Kreme Donuts
  12. Gallon of Milk
  13. Gallon of Orange Juice
  14. 5 Gallons of Coke
  15. 5 Gallons of Dr. Pepper
  16. Air freshener, lots and lots of air freshener
  17. Did I mention ear plugs?  Also a TV in your bedroom cranked to full volume is also quite helpful at 2 a.m. when you can still hear laughing and tromping around.
  18. A good sense of humor and plenty of time to nap the next day.
